Cape Town, South Africa

South Africa
Hi Emmy, Cassidy, AJ, Vivi, Noe, Reedy, Ximena, Sammy and Kendra!
Aunt Meg and Frannie had so much fun in South Africa! Actually Frannie met a new friend!!!! His name is Bernie the Baboon! There are pictures of him below. She met him in Cape Town and they immediately became best friends. She asked him to come on the ship for the rest of the voyage! Friends are so fun!
Here is a map of South Africa. I was in Cape Town. Can you find South Africa on your map?

Below is the South African Flag.  Aunt Meg like's this flag so much she had it painted on her thumb nail. Can you see it in the picture? AJ, Vivi, and Ximena, can you also see in that picture my wall? The pictures you sent me of you are up on my wall! Thank you!

Ximena!!!! Frannie loves the picture of you and Fiona!!!! She misses you both so much!!! She hugged the picture for hours!!!!

There were so many animals in South Africa!!!!! Penguins!!! Noe and Reedy - I know your mom loves penguins. I bought her some when we visited the penguins at the beach. They are so cute.Oh my! Tia Meg was  driving with her two friends and she saw a sign for an "Ostrich Farm" What is an Ostrich farm? It is just a large area with A LOT of Ostriches! They were huge! Also there were signs everywhere about all of the Baboons in the area. At one point we saw a baboon hanging out with an Ostrich. It was so funny! EmmyKendra and Sammy I bet you would have loved the Baboons!

Aunt Meg and her friend Sarah had their face painted when they went to lunch one day. So pretty! AJ and Vivi, do you remember when you got your faces painted  in San Diego?
Frannie bought a drum in South Africa! It is pink. Pink is her favorite color. Cassidy, maybe Frannie can come play the drum with you when she gets home and you can play your pink guitar from Mexico!
Here are some pictures of Bernie the Baboon and some of Frannie's other friends. In the picture above Frannie is with Bernie and Bella Bear. Bella Bear lives next to Frannie.
Bernie and Frannie leaving on the ship. Bernie is so excited about living on the ship with Aunt Meg and Frannie - she is hugging Frannie so much!
Aunt Meg, Bernie and Frannie! Bernie gives great hugs! Ximena, your mom tells me you give great humoungous monster hugs!
This is Mary Beth. Mary Beth is Tia Meg's friend and her neighbor. She has a few animals as well that travel with her.
Of course, Frannie found a beach. She loves to go to the beach with Tia Meg! Emmy, Frannie would love to go to the beach with you when she gets back, is that OK? Can she go with you and your new little sister?
 And a beautiful garden!!!!!
Lillies are Tia Meg and Frannie's favorite flower!

Frannie and Aunt Meg got to do something really exciting!!!! They flew in a Helicopter over Cape Town with their friend Carlos. It was so exciting!!!!!! AJ and Reedy would you want to fly in a helicopter?

When Aunt Meg was in 3rd grade she wanted to be a pilot. What do you want to do when you grow up?
LOOK!!! You can see our ship from the air!
Aunt Meg and Frannie were so excited to get presents from AJ and Vivi. Her and Bernie hugged your pictures!

Bernie came to a winery with Aunt Meg. They found all of these beautiful pictures on the walls.
 Bernie liked to drive too!

Here is an Ostrich!  Noe have you seen an Ostrich?

We also went to Cape Point, which is the most southern part of the entire African Continent. Can you find that on your map?  There are all of these strange animals named dassie's that roam around.
Tia Meg is pretending to walk like a penguin.
On your maps if there are longitude and latitude lines, you can try to fine these lines and then you will know exactly where I was.
My GPS on my phone told me. That was funny!
At Cape Point you can stand in one spot and see two oceans! The Atlantic Ocean, which Ximena, AJ and Vivi are near and the Indian Ocean. Pretty cool.
Cute Cute Penguin!
We went Kayaking with all of the Penguins!
WOW - When we were kayaking we went right by all of these seals that were playing in the water. South Africa has so many animals!
Cape Town has a mountain called "Table Mountain" Why do you think it is called Table Mountain?
Kayaking! Aunt Meg was nervous to have her camera near the water but she didn't drop it in!
And of course...just like in Ghana, Frannie made a lot of friends with the children.

Kendra and Sammy, guess where Tia Meg and Frannie are going next? Chile - where your daddy is from!
We can't wait to go back to South Africa!
