The Map

Hi Everyone!!! This is what your maps should kind of look like :-) It will help you find the countries!

Russia

Wow! Frannie and I got to Russia!

Here is a map of Russia. Can you find Saint Petersburg, Russia on your map?

Russia is HUGE! it is more then twice the size of the United States! Russia is usually very cold. The country gets 50 days of sunshine every year. Frannie and I were very lucky because it was gorgeous and sunny every day we were there! Here is the Russian flag, flying in in the lovely blue skys!

Before we got to Russia Frannie had to try on her life jacket to make sure it was the right size!

Frannie and I did soooo much in Russia! We saw many Russian dolls called Matrioshka.
They are like the dolls you play with but there are more and littler dolls inside the big ones.

Frannie also got to go to the ballet! She knew that all the little dancers out there, Kendra, Sammy, Noe, Emmie, Xime, Vivi and Cassidy would be sooo excited. The ballet was gorgeous!  Frannie got dressed up and loved how pretty the theater was!

Frannie has made some friends on the ship. Bart the Bear and Bella the Bird. She is having fun! They are like her little sister and little brother! Just like Kendra, Xime, and Noe - it is fun to have a little brother or sister, right? Emmie and Cassidy- are you getting excited to meet your new little sister/brother soon?

Frannie found an organic garden in Russia! She ate apples and berries:-)

And then she found a kids fair and had all these books to read - but they were written in Russian. She had a hard time reading them!

The city of St Petersburg is named after someone named St. Peter. Aunt Meg found a statue of him and took a picture! :-)

There is a famous museum in Russia called the Hermatage. Aunt Meg and Frannie walked around and looked at all of the art work! Very pretty! :-) Reedy, Noe, Vivi, and Aj- This is one of the places that Grandma has always wanted to go! Grandma was very excited that Frannie got to see it.

Vivi and Aj - Do you like Jersey Shore funnel cake?? Well Russia has these doughnuts that taste even better then funnel cake. It was sooooooo delicious!!!

Bye from Frannie!!!!

Embarkation

Frannie and I are on our way!

It was so exciting! 950 people all aboard the ship! We have teachers, students, crew members, and people like me who help organize activities for everyone to do! The ship has been sailing around the world for 50 years! That is a long time!!!!! We celebrated the ships 50th birthday with balloons and bubbles!

The ship has 23 little kids like all of you! The youngest is 2 and the oldest is 16 years old. The have school on the ship everyday!

Frannie loves her new room. She stares out the window at the ocean everyday! Xime, Frannie heard that you and Fiona just got a new room! Do you love it??

Sometimes Frannie hangs out on the deck and watches the sunrise.

When we got on the ship the first thing we had to do was try on our life vests just in case something goes wrong she will know what to do. The life vest was a little big on her! Vivi and AJ, do you remember wearing life jackets on Grandma and Grandpa's boat in Tahoe?

Frannie and I go to work everyday.. we are very happy because this is our office every day!

We are almost to our next country called Russia! Bye from Frannie!

England

Hi Everyone!

Frannie and I have been having such a wonderful time!  Emmie was nice enough to take Frannie and I to the airport in San Diego! Thank you Emmie! Frannie and I flew all the way to England. It took about 10 hours.  England was fabulous! Do you know why it is so special to me??? Because Noe... that is where you were born! Frannie loved seeing the country you were born in!

Here is the English Flag:

Here is a map of England. The ship left from Southampton, England. Can you find me on your map?

Frannie loved the telephone booths in London. She made a few calls to her friends back San Diego. She tried to call Cassidy but I think she was out surfing! next time:-)

On August 24th, Frannie and I left on this ship - the M.V. Explorer. Isn't she pretty? We will be living on this ship for 114 days! I don't get seasick and I hope Frannie doesn't either!

 Bye from Frannie!
